Beskrivelse
In the first book in the series, 'Buckley the Kilcoy Yowie', we met Buckley, the innocent and loveable Dreamtime legend. Following the loss of Archie in the Great War, Buckley felt responsible for giving his family false hope that both sons would return unscathed from the War. He blamed himself for the family's sadness and felt that the only solution was to go on a short 'Walkabout'. In this second book we discover that time is but a blink of an eye to Yowies. Ninety years pass by before Buckley is finally re-united with his family and his town. He then sets about on a mission to put Kilcoy on the World map. Join Buckley as he gets to know the new members of his family, and the new friends he meets along the way.

Buckley returns from his long walkabout around Australia to his home of Kilcoy. As an immortal creature, he is saddened to learn that all those he loved have passed on, except Frank, (a great-grandson of one of Buckley’s original family members), who was a child when Buckley left. Once more he becomes part of the Taylor family and is embraced by all of the town folk, who realize he is not a myth, but an integral part of their history. Past and present Australian culture are blended with a delightful sprinkling of humor into this entertaining tale that takes place in outback Kilcoy, as Buckley and his new family and friends plan and partake in a yowie festival, full of fun, music and sporting events. I loved the descriptive imagery of the Australian bush and local places, and the cartoon images throughout the novel. As a schoolteacher I highly recommend this book for both home and the classroom. All in all a fabulous story!
