Beskrivelse

An accidental encounter with two young boys leads Buckley the Yowie on his greatest adventure yet. One of the boys, Edward Kelly, son of a former convict, influenced by the people and world around him, seems set on a path of crime and self destruction. Join Buckley as he becomes Ned's friend and mentor, trying his best to steer him in the right direction. But what will Ned choose, the life of a farmer or that of a Bushranger, and an eventual fiery showdown at a small town called Glenrowan?

Absolutely brilliant novel for all of the family. If teenagers and adults don't love this no one will! Buckley is a mythical creature but not at the moment a comical character for toddlers etc. In this adventure he "meets" a young Ned Kelly, becomes his friend, and spends his time trying to steer him on the right path. This is a fun, yet serious story, at the same time, tracing Ned Kelly as he transforms in to the Bushranger that we know of today. It is more or less historically correct and would be a great way for teenagers to learn the history of this Bushranger and his associates, whilst throwing in a Yowie for good measure. If this book, perhaps combined with the other 2 Buckley the Yowie stories, was made in to a family movie I would watch it. Buy this book. You won't regret it.
