Love triangles and college romance is on the absolute bottom of my favorite book tropes list. To make it even worse, it's a duet. I don't get my HEA fix right away, I have to wait. I do not do waiting very well. So what do you do, when a automatic 1-click author of yours publishes just that? Love triangle at college (God! I feel so old) in two parts... Well in my case, you pull up your impatient prejudiced pants, rip'em off, and read the bloody book anyway. Because you know, this ONE author, she changes your mind about tropes every bloody time. She lures you in, then rips out your heart and stomps all over it, that's was she does... And I friggin' love it. This new web of tales Emma Scott is spinning is about three juniors at Amherst University. Two 'closer than blood' best friends and one skeptical girl, who has had her heart broken by her cheating ex. Strongly inspired by the play 'Cyrano de Bergerac' this story unfolds and the plot thickens. Now it took my a little while to get into this story. The author had a lot of convincing to do, to get my vote on this book, but the further in I got, the harder it was to let go. The closer I got to the end, the faster my heart was beating. And when the end punched me right in the face, my heart stopped... Basically just the way it is suppose to go, when you pick up an Emma Scott story <3
