Bread

A celebration of successful miracles collides with a grieving Jesus, as hunger rises and demands to be fed. Patience runs thin as resources are scarce, yet the people won't go home. How can God be generous with so many empty pockets? Deep, down hunger gnawing at the souls of thousands of people lost in a sea of faces. Fresh out of the oven on a cold day, warming the toes, spreading smiles of joy as rich butter is slathered on every bite. A fundamental staple in nearly every pantry across the world, dating back to the beginning of Ages. Baked, fried, flat, fluffy, soft, dense, made from fields of grain harvested in peak season. Bread, a universal food easily recognized by nearly every nation. Simple, unimpressive bread. Yet Jesus chooses bread for a great miracle of feeding empty souls.
