Urban Management

Urban Management is about managing cities in uncertain times. The book covers the urbanization process, the urban challenges, the benefits of cities, and the scope of urban management. The latter includes urban planning, capital investment programs, local economic development, housing, urban service delivery, public utilities, social services, general urban services, transport, and asset management. This book focuses on the general principles of urban management, particularly in developing countries. It uses the CSGG framework -- institutional capacity, scope of urban management, goals of urban management, and governance -- for urban management.In this second edition, the chapters have been reorganized, revised, and expanded to include many case studies. There are new chapters on capital investment programs and asset management.
