Strange, how things occur in your life that change you completely. The events happen and you have no idea what will come from them. It may be a person crossing your path in a mall. Or, it may be the death of a friend or family member. Whatever it may be, this event will change you completely. I have seen these things in my life and the life of those around me. They often seem like innocent events that are disconnected from us. That is what has inspired this story. For only the reason that I had begun this many times in my life and it has held on for all these years. I cannot let go of the idea. It has changed and evolved from one to the other. Yet the story holds me captive. What if this actually happened in your town? What would you do? The science of our day is heading that direction. The manipulation of genetics has become hard science. It no longer remains in the realm of science fiction; it is science fact. Cross species manipulation, and DNA splicing has become the science of the day. It is only a matter of time till we find ourselves looking into the face of a genetically new species. Welcome to Blood River, dear reader. I hope that you are able to find a safe refuge to enjoy the madness that breaks loose in this quiet city. I also hope that you can find a safe escape route. Because the madness will come, and if you're not in a safe place it will sweep you away. Unless you find that your own genetics have been changed while you sleep. Maybe that strange twinge you have felt in the back of your neck is just your true-self trying to emerge. Or maybe that muscle spasm that keeps causing your arm to twitch is really just the muscles changing to their true form. I don't know what you may become or have become.
