Cady McBride is devastated when her daughter goes missing on what was to be a fun, family camping trip in the mountains. When her body is discovered, she is desperate to find the killer. As she battles her own demons of dealing with her bipolar disorder, fraught with manic episodes, she will stop at nothing until she gets justice.

Detective Alaska Cosay, a member of the tribal police, has been assigned to investigate the murder. This is more than just another case to the Arizona native as she tries to untangle the trail of lies and deceit left in its path. Having lost her own daughter by homicide years before, Alaska knows the best way to find a killer is to summon one who has a stake in it, so she secretly recruits Cady to help in solving the case.

A mother who will stop at nothing, a marriage which may not be able to withstand the tragedy, and a list of suspects who has her questioning her own sanity at times. Will they be able to find the killer before he strikes again?

Cady must now risk losing the relationships of those she loves to keep pursuing justice. But, will it cost her everything?
