Beskrivelse
The United States of America has always been divided by color, race, and ignorance. These American ideals were never more apparent than in mid-west Indiana, the birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan, and a bastion of racial segregation. Within the confines of segregation, all races and color of people still must have a place to live, provide for their families, try to get along with other people, and importantly, not getting harmed or killed while doing so.
In Becky, A tale of two girls, we follow the unlikely relationship between a Black girl named Becky, and her neighbor, a troubled White girl named Rebeca. They both share a love for basketball, as most Hoosiers do, and also as a way for them to get out, from the conditions that their society had already instituted for them.
The story is an intimate portrait of an almost 40-year sisterhood between Becky, Rebeca, and their Indian friend named Sarah Blackfoot.
