In the course of saving reality and all humankind that resides therein, Barkley Bohner has accidentally founded a new world religion. Now sectarian violence is about to consume the world. In search of an answer, Barkley and his wife Sylvia enlist the aid of a lost Amazon tribe. Together, they journey into the belly of the snake where an eccentric God resides. The solution, as Barkley sees it, is to allow his legendary Victorian-era ancestor, Barkley Bohner Man of Action, to die when he was meant to have died, decades prior to his historical death.
