Babushka's Children

John Ranger returns from Russia unaware of the importance of his discovery linking high-ranking FSB officers with the Russian Mafia. Depressed, and disillusioned, he decides to quit British Intelligence. Simon Sparrowhawk persuades him to return to Russia, after Natasha, whom Ranger helped to smuggle out, is recruited by the service. An attempt on Natasha's life during training indicates a mole in the Department. Ranger is determines to find the mole but not before he and Natasha are sent back to Russia on another perilous mission.
