Illustrated with over 200 photographs and postcards drawn from the archive held at Birmingham Central Library, this fascinating selection features some of the important events and changes that have occurred during the last century, including the construction of the municipal airport in nearby Elmdon, a pretty Warwickshire parish adjoining Sheldon. Aspects of everyday life are also featured, from schools and churches, farms and cottages, shops and public houses – such as the Wagon and Horses and The Bell Inn – to celebrations and outings to the nearby countryside.
