I got caught, and so I am without excuse. I've escaped one prison only to enter another, but this time it's worse. Now they use coercion instead of cells, and trackers instead of chains. They've made me a traitor, yet I have only myself to blame. I thought my morality was infallible, yet that was my downfall. I valued my friends lives more than their trust-but is that really so wrong? This is how Rastila took over in the first place: one person at a time. Eventually they had blackmailed our entire army. But I am tired of running, I am tired of betraying my friends, and I am done being a puppet. If I die in defiance, so be it-I never had much to live for anyway. I just wish it was only my life I am putting at risk, but there are so many others who could suffer because of my actions. If I succeed, I'll be hailed a hero, but if I should fail, I'll be branded by history the worst traitor of all-and history will be right. -April Henkley
