After narrowly escaping Alice's clutches, Laura Jones, Maverick Schall, and the thirteen other anomalies they rescued are finally safe-but not sound. No one from their old lives remembers who they are anymore, and the teens need to hide or risk getting captured again.

Even with the odds against them, Laura is determined to find a way to get everyone's memories back and believes Alice knows how. As the group tries to track her down, however, Alice always seems to be two steps ahead and leading them into even deadlier traps. At the same time, tensions run high among Laura's rag-tag team, and with each second that passes, Alice gets closer to her ultimate goal.
