Called an addendum for high school classes in American History, this workbook is for teachers who would like to add music to the ordinary politics and economics of the major textbooks. For on-level courses, it is a fine supplement and foray into text-analysis via lyrics. For AP* and IB* classes it backs up and makes more clear the patterns of thought as illustrated by songs throughout the U.S. History timeline. The goal of the workbook is to give students a better grasp of the atmosphere of each period in U.S. History and what music and song reveal about the life and culture of the period.
