American Reality

An American Reality emerges in the context of 'The Incident' of racism and discrimination that Dr. Ronald Barnes, the author of this book, experienced at the University of Chicago. Racism has become so prevalent and identifiable with American Society that it is normal behavior for White people to be racists or to act with 'racist residue'. It is empirically established that people have a 'bias blind spot,' meaning that they are less likely to detect bias in themselves than others are.
