Albert's Kids

As Albert Mortensen jostled toward the courthouse, an unruly throng shouted and waved signs proclaiming SCHOOL CHOICE, MY CHOICE and SAVE OUR TEACHERS, NO CHARTER SCHOOLS. Albert is trapped between his passion for teaching high school science and a fanatic school district president. Suffering chronic headaches, his wife Rebecca persuades him to retire and volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club where he meets Lisa, a teacher from a nearby charter school. Entranced by her effervescent personality, he takes a job teaching at her school. Fighting for his kids, Albert's path leads him to a tempestuous lawyer and a nationwide campaign promoting educational reform. Caught up in a whirlwind of illicit romantic yearnings and a health draining workload, he lands in court dueling the school board and teacher's union. Embracing her husband's zeal, Rebecca quits her job and joins Albert on the road. Little does she know that her role will unexpectedly intensify.
