Beskrivelse
This book is for the artist the writer the landscaper the architect the musician no less the environmentalist nature conservationist and creation-carer. It is about how the author his wife (illustrator photographer) and young son (illustrator photographer) went from living on the grid in America to living off the grid in Tanzania East Africa amid forestland at the foot of mountains where they came to create "unified sustainable art with the land." The first step in their artistic evolution from non-artists to artists came in the form of building a mud house and landscaping the surrounding area. The natural landscaping called them to other artistic expressions and brought about a unification of landscaping with architecting sculpting musicking writing painting and the total art of living. This unifying of arts encouraged them to think of the ultimate unified creative work in nature as themselves the human of nature where even their intelligence is a unifying creative work of art to make. "African sustainable art" is what they have come to name this total art of living in which sustainability is nothing less than synonymous with survivability especially in the present Anthropocene Epoch of existential threat.
