African Fireside Stories

This stories in this book are based on true experiences involving mainly African children. In this volume, the reader not only gets to learn of the vibrant characters of these children and youth, but also gets a glimpse of the culture, tradition, and part of their way of life. The general setting for these stories is in the distant rural areas not yet tainted by the intricacies of modern life. In these places, the people would rely on simple modes of transport such as riding on donkeys or donkey-carts. But these stories also reflect how resolute and determined African children can be in their attempts to be obedient to their parents, teachers, relatives, and the village elders. Community among African children reflects the values instilled upon them by their parents. Many of the characters in this story are young believers in the Christian faith.
