Beskrivelse
World War II will remain one of the most significant events in the annals of mankind. That war changed the lives of people all around the world. Women came out, atypically, to work out of necessity, in the process demonstrating both skill and devotion. Black people and those of other minority groups had to face discrimination and fascism, yet they did so with honor, self-sacrifice, and hard work. America went from a place of segregation and inequality to one of legal desegregation in both civil society and the military. World history is replete with the stories of love, personal endurance, and courage of those who sacrificed their lives to make the world a better place for us all. Those people acted on hope. That is why the title of this book is Acting on Hope.
