Is perception the same as reality? Is Ben really crazy if he perceives himself going crazy? Is his mother actually dead just because he attended her funeral- his younger brother Chase beside him, staring at her makeup covered face? And what do we think about Aberrance? The girl who looks realer than life. A daydream standing in front of Ben, tempting him with an alternate reality; scaring him with her surreality. Are you even real? Well are you, Aberrance? Ben is a high school senior looking to move past the death of his mother and the pain she left behind. But when his mother died, she left problems that Ben can't ignore: problems that further divide him from his younger brother, Chase. Is Aberrance an escape? Do her radiating eyes and knowing smile somehow represent a way out for Ben? Or perhaps, Aberrance is not an answer. Perhaps, she poses the largest problem of all: a problem of identity, fear, and most of all- perception.
