A Woman of Gold

Even after sixty-four years of marriage my friends tell me I am brave to write my wife's biography. However I have always worked on the principle that "fortune favours the brave" but anyway, what can go wrong? I mean, I don't forget the date of her birthday and where she was born! Well, I can recite the story of how she expertly handled the mundane, the challenging ups and downs, the unexpected, and inexplicable vagaries of life while balancing her roles as a wife, mother of three, grandmother of six, teacher, co-director of a chemical company, elder of her church, philanthropist and avid tennis player. Nevertheless we shall not forget Shakespeare's well-remembered prayer put on the lips of Hamlet's guards: "Angels and ministers of grace, defend us ..." But yes, I will be brave, as Judy told me to be!
