A Walk Through Time

View life and death through the eyes of a hospice nurse. Tom knows that he is dying. His terminal illness makes him reflect back on his life’s journey. He remembers the patients he’s cared for, the tough decisions he’s had to make, and his deceased wife.

Tom knows his time is short and his dreams will soon come to an end. When he hears the voice of his dead wife, she tells him not to hasten his death.

He heads to a retreat in Oregon for the terminally and chronically ill, hoping he comes to grip with his disease. There Tom meets other people who share his health concerns, including Jenny, a woman he comes to feel deeply for.

At the retreat, Tom starts to come to terms with his illness, having the encouragement and affection of his newfound love.

Tom and Jenny both live in the same city and become closer over time. But as Jenny’s disease becomes more manageable, Tom’s health worsens. Do these two have a shot at lasting love?

About the Author: Joseph Marino, RN BSN, has been a nurse for 24 years, working in hospice for over 13 years. A gerontologist/hospice nurse, he also has a degree in anthropology and an MBA. His other three books are Autumn of Life, A Guide to Aging and Dying, and two children’s books featuring dinosaurs, A Hot Summer Day and Laugh Until You Cry. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, the author is semi-retired and now resides in Arizona.
