A Vision of Pastoral Ministry

We pastoral ministers are invited to lead people through the riches of our tradition to a discovery of God. Through the sacraments, preaching, catechesis, and the basic ministry of simply being present for one another, we invite others to encounter the Holy Mystery of God. In doing so, that brings both others and us closer to God.

In A Vision of Pastoral Ministry Dr. Richard R. Gaillardetz helps us encounter God personally; as the Superabundance of Love and as Being-In-Communion, we are made in the image and likeness of God. If God is the Superabundance of Love and we are made in God's image, then we are called to serve one another in God just as our God seeks us.
