A Novel Idea

Three months ago, I wouldn't have mentioned his name in passing. I thought I had fabricated him in my dreams. After some retrospect and a lot of faith on my part, rekindling a high school romance that fizzled out years ago, wasn't in the cards.

It didn't seem possible that I'd run into the invisible boy with whom only I could see. I had no clue how all the events led me here or how I ended up in the bed of one of the most notorious criminals in Chicago.

He was far from the troublesome boy I knew, who meddled in my life like he was my shield from the evils of the world. Now, as one of the most feared men in the city , he was my Romeo, my poet laureate, and my saving grace from a world of anxiety.

I returned to Chicago to find my purpose but maybe I have a second chance to find my home.
