My childhood friend and local politician is found murdered in her living room where her family couch still has plastic covers on it as an homage to her late mother. She died back in the 60's.

I'm Parker Bell and I thought crazy only existed in large cities. I was wrong. Crazy oozed out of every pore of my old hometown. Why I thought I and the Lady Gatorettes, diehard University of Florida football fans who are hormonally challenged every day the sun comes up, could solve a murder or two is beyond me.

Did the Mafia come to town or was it just plain bad luck a politician or two is murdered or threatened? We need to figure it out quick before we meet our untimely demise.

A fun, over-the-top mystery set in a fictional Northeast Florida town set on the St. Johns River, the characters are delighted to be Southern with all their cultural nuances and surprising idiosyncrasies. Gators, football, grits, Coca-Cola, BBQ and loyal friends are some of that culture you'll easily recognize. You're going to want some of these people as YOUR friends!

This is a book meant to be a purely fun read and it doesn't disappoint! Great for the beach or a weekend getaway, the pacing is quick and the outrageous technology will make you shake your head in amazement.

I love reading Southern mysteries written with humor! This book has lots of wonderful characters, the plot is twisted and fun, the setting definitely plays a part, and the heroine is delightful. I'll be reading more about Parker and Po'thole, Florida!

I loved the first book in this series and this one matches it. I laughed so much, my dog started laughing along with me. Parker's senior next-door neighbors are hilarious. There is one scene that cracked me up...I was laughing so hard I dropped my Kindle which hit my glass knocking it over, splashing pepsi all over the couch.. Didn't spill any on my laptop key board and cause it to fry/die though.
