Have you ever experienced a time in your life when you wished you'd listened to your intuition? This is my story about a time in my life when I lost faith in my instincts and in myself.During the beginning of my research about toxic people for this book, the many case studies and professional papers all led me down the same path. They opened my eyes to the world of mental disorders, sociopaths and narcissists. In the end, I came to the conclusion that I was most likely living with a narcissist and had been for the past fourteen years. And most importantly, my hopes of 'changing' them to be the partner I needed were unrealistic. I needed to step back and relook at my relationship through a new lens, from a new perspective. If I was to live my life authentically and achieve the dreams I had for myself, I needed to leave the relationship NOW In this book, I offer you background and research on narcissism and toxic relationships. I provide warning signs, helpful resources and further reading lists. And of course, I share my own personal story and how I managed to garner the strength and confidence to not only leave the relationship, but to take my first steps towards healing and recovery. I am no longer afraid to accept my past and the lessons it has taught me. I also better understand the role I played as an empath. So I am now moving forward with my life and exploring my dreams from a place of experience, strength and a renewed spiritual awakening.
