3 Wars and a Police Action

As the Great Depression was winding down and a second world-wide war was ramping up in Europe and Asia youths were becoming adults and needed to find a way of meeting the financial obligations that come with adulthood. This book summarizes this journey for one young man on his quest for self-sufficiency. Every generation faces this challenge. Whether it be economic turmoil, pandemics, terrorism, war, gender dysphoria, the older generation hanging on to power too long, a dysfunctional childhood, or something not even dreamed of yet, every year as new adults come of age they are met by challenges. This is the story of one such youth, stripped of gainful employment he had enjoyed since he started working at 16 and finding himself facing an economy where a paycheck could either feed him or house him, but not both. Fate steps in, creativity and flexibility are employed, and a job is taken that provides both, and free housing to boot.
