Beskrivelse
OPERATION HANNIBAL, is a novel, complete with intrigue, conspiracy, and deception. The Cold War got up a head of steam during the Fifties when the world was anything but cold. US agents inside the USSR report that two Marines are imprisoned in a gulag in Siberia. They had been part of a team investigating Soviet incursions into Alaska from across the Bering Strait. The two Marines had crossed paths with Soviet scientists searching for uranium deposits in Alaska under orders from the Soviet premiere. The Soviets captured the two Marines, transported them to the Soviet mainland, and locked them in a gulag for "safe-keeping."It became the duty of a six-man, plus a war-dog, from the U.S. Special Projects division to parachute into the Siberian area, enter the gulag, extract the two Marines, march to the beach, board a US Navy submarine, and return home without anyone in the world knowing that they had ever been close to the gulag.
